Curator
Dena Zemsky
Dena Zemsky is a New York based painter, photographer, ceramicist, a retired business owner who has split her time between Manhattan and the North Fork since 1993. Her ceramic work has been shown at Art Sites Gallery in Riverhead, VSOP Projects in Greenport, The Nippon Gallery in New York City, The Park Avenue Armory Art & Design Show, as well as galleries in New Jersey and California. She is currently represented by the Donzella Gallery in the prestigious 200 Lex. Decorative arts building. She has co-curated multiple group-shows on the North Fork including the Winter Salons at VSOP Projects.
Dena’s work is and has always been inspired by nature – high tide line formations, the movement of underwater plants, barnacles and coral formations. For IN FLOWER, Dena has selected works that feature flowers. Dena is an avid gardener, with an artfully sculpted, mostly perennial, garden making flora and fauna a natural focal point for her first show as sole curator. IN FLOWER features a group of artists culled from Dena’s deep network built from a lifetime spent living, working, and creating in New York City and on the North Fork.
