Artist Statement:  For the past ten years my work in self-portraiture has led me to explore different facets of myself-hood from varying perspectives. As I work through the highs and lows of my anxiety and depression, my work has expanded to encompass themes of mental health. My completed works are an amalgam of processes; I use, blind contour drawing, collage (both hand-cut and digital), cut paper, gouache, and hand-beaded embellishment. Through the solace I find in my art practice, I find I am simultaneously gathering and shedding pieces of myself on my studio floor. I hope that the vulnerability I create with, carves out a place of solace for viewers in my work.
