Cathleen Ficht

Cathleen Ficht hails from New York City and grew up on Long Island. She's all about drawing and printmaking, diving deep into techniques like photolithography, stone lithography, and wood engraving. 

Her journey in art started with a BFA in Printmaking and a minor in Illustration from the University of Hartford in 2011. Later, she pursued her passion further, earning an MFA in Printmaking from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014. 

Ficht's artistic pursuits have taken her far and wide, including residencies at the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA, and the Chateau d’Orquevaux in France. Her talent hasn't gone unnoticed; she clinched the Best In Show title at the Where is the Human? National Juried show at East End Arts. 

You can catch Ficht's work in various exhibitions across the US and beyond, from New York to California, and even online showcases.  Her art focuses on finding beauty in everyday objects and scenes, capturing fleeting moments and turning them into unforgettable experiences within her artwork. 

Cathleen Fitcht currently teaches drawing at Stony Brook University and St. Joseph's College.
