Sabrina Montella

Sabrina Montella is a self-taught artist based in the North Fork of Long Island, NY. Art and creation are two constants in her life. She grew up with a natural aptitude towards accurately illustrating life in her works, and it became a skill she has honed through the years.

These skills now serve her to capture and depict specific emotions, moments in time, and styles that she loves. Inspired by collecting vintage photographs and goods from the past, Sabrina hopes to continue to cultivate a body of work that elicits feelings of indirect nostalgia and sentiment for a time of life full of adornment, decorum and tradition.

Her current body of work features trompe l’oeil oil paintings, filled with objects that serve to portray a portrait of a person, creating a story of who they were using the items they kept which may hold some significance to them.

“I have always been fascinated by symbols and cognizant of the fact that even the slightest nuances can change how we perceive and categorize something in our minds. What I hope to remind people of is how these nuances are what makes all the difference, not just in my art, but in each and every person’s life.”
