Ellen Wiener

I use content from verse, theology, science, science-fiction and history in paintings, prints and artists books. My work explores landscape with an emphasis on botany and geology. Plants, rocks and fossils act both as calendars and clocks; they embody past time and our very active participation in the present. Their systems, if we look carefully, are keys and classrooms.
